The Supernova Award is the highest individual honor that our company gives and each year. One individual on the leadership team at RidgeCrest is voted by their colleagues as the community’s Supernova based on an assortment of criteria. Each year during the Senior Living Communities Annual Meeting, the winner is revealed and given a customized crystal award at the company’s formal Supernova Awards Evening. The criteria for voting is based on upholding our company’s mission to be caring professionals dedicated to quality services. Additionally, this individual will consistently deliver excellent customer service (to Members, families, and colleagues), lead positively with integrity, take accountability, put the team before themselves, and embody the company’s vision to create communities where people live longer, healthier, and happier lives.

This year, we are proud to congratulate our Live Long Well Care – Care Coordinator Supervisor, Candi Gunter, as the recipient of the 2021 RidgeCrest Supernova Award. This honor was bestowed at the Senior Living Communities Annual Meeting on Thursday, August 5th at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation on Amelia Island, Florida. As the Client Services Manager, Candi is responsible for managing agency operations while promoting positive client relations. She manages documentation and scheduling to ensure regulation compliance. She transmits information to staff and office personnel to facilitate daily office activities and ensure that sensitive company information is appropriately handled. Candi is often the first contact the company has with the public and must maintain confidentiality of business, patient and employee matters.

Candi has been a part of the RidgeCrest family for three years. During her first year, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Medical Technician every other weekend in assisted living. After her first year, she was promoted to the Live Long Well Care – Care Coordinator Supervisor position. In addition to her position at RidgeCrest, she works at Northern Regional Hospital and has been there for close to 8 years, working in registration.

In her free time, Candi enjoys working out, cooking, shopping, going on new adventures and working on DIY projects. She enjoys spending time with her two loving parents that have been married for 48 years and her older brother who works for Air Care.

What’s a quote or inspirational words that influence/impact you?

Inspirational words that impact me are: believe, challenge, confidence, drive, strength, and gratitude. The word that I live by and the word that influences me the most and impacts me the most is blessed. One of my favorite Bible scriptures is Luke 1:45; Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord will fulfill his promises to her.

Congratulations on being chosen as a Supernova! How do you feel?

How do I feel is a good question, because I’m still in shock! I never would have thought that they would have chosen me. I’m so thankful that my coworkers see things in me that I don’t even see in myself.

What’s your favorite part about your position?

One of my favorite parts about my job is that I work with an amazing team. My colleagues are so supportive and understanding. If I ever need advice, if I need help with leadership or guidance, they are always there to help me. That is so important to me that you have a strong team behind you and with you. I’m not by myself.

What do you want people to know about working in a retirement community?

Working at Ridgecrest does not feel like work. We have fun, we laugh, go on trips, you can be a part of fun activities and it doesn’t matter what department you work in, if you want to help in activities you can; call Bingo, help at Social Hour, the list goes on. Working at Ridgecrest is like working with a family. Since we are a small retirement community, you always have support from others and you are not alone.
